About

About the old blog:

I started this blog as a collection of the poems I’ve written since 2006 and everything else that reflect and inspire me. I’ve stopped writing for a long time as I always felt a little bit insecure about my writing. I don’t think of myself as a blogger either. My head is full of random thoughts, I finally felt the need to sort of “clean up” and “organize” them. This is the first time that I’ve had the courage to publicly publish this blog. In a way, I am trying to find lost passions and in the process, find out more about myself too.

What’s new about this revival?

This new blog is inspired by the multiple meanings of the word “ren” (which also happens to be my nickname). The 人 (“ren”) character in Chinese generally means man, person or people.

“Ren” also refers to a virtue in Confucianism (Chinese philosophy) which is represented by the character 仁.  According to Wikipedia, “Ren is the Confucian virtue denoting the good feeling a virtuous human experiences when being altruistic. Ren is exemplified by a normal adult’s protective feelings for children. It is considered the outward expression of Confucian ideals.”
