Chase the Light

light, shadow, light

run, hide, run

infinite journey as it seems

there’s only the light i see

light, shadow, light

run, hide, run

alone i chase your beams

no baggage, no luxury

light, shadow, light

run, hide, run

i forget the race

and move in my pace

light, light

burst of light

i reach out to you

light, light

your dancing eyes

i bask in them

i chase the light

the rhythm in my veins

the adventure i chose

light, shadow, light

intangible

all i have are images in my head

your back turned

you waving goodbye

our distant walks

you looking away

me pretending to look away

your facial expression i couldn’t read

all i have are conversations in my head

what you said

what i said

what i wanted to say

what i imagined you to say

all i have are fond recollections

your idiosyncrasies

the way your words come out

me deciphering what you just said

your ‘optimized’ messages

moments i became a dope

you laughing at me

all i have are only these

intangible things in my mind

Avec un Sourire

Someone told her about Happiness. Awe-stricken. Numbed. Psyched. Truth smashed into her face. She hoped for blindness in the dark. Numbers played cruelty on her mind. They were branded, tattooed.  Pouty lips contoured into two parallel arches. Words cutoff with giggles here and there. She tried to mask it. Pretended indifference. Turned her head towards the thick yellow smoke. Enigma, irony, and sarcasm were games she liked to play. Yes, she was smiling alright…
